Welcome
to the SkiBeauval Website
Memberships:
The Beauval Ski Club is open to anyone who enjoys cross country skiing.
Presently, the largest members are students from Valley View School,
although many adults from Beauval ski for the fun of it. Those who choose
not to volunteer, will have to pay yearly fees as set by the executive
at a their annual meeting.
A
map to Beauval and an outline of the 23 km trails is posted under the
Trails.
Events:
Ski Club hosts a number of races such as the
North West Cup, the Bill
Dinsdale Loppet and Premium
Masters Race. In the past the club was also involved
with Biathlon Competitions for northern students, however certain events
has put that program on hold. Coaches and students who are interested
in revitalizing the program can contact Morris Brizinski for further
information. Students interested in racing must be committed to year
round training.
Check
out the Valley View School “Learn
to Ski Program” for students from grades 4
to 9. The fun ski and racing components are based on the National Jackrabbit
Ski Program.
Partnerships:
The Beauval Ski Club (BSC) could not exist if it were not partnered
with several Agencies, Boards and Volunteers. BSC is partnered with
Cross Country Saskatchewan who offers assistance in a variety of areas
– programming, races and loppets, mentorship, and grants. Several
Local agencies provide help as well, they include Beaver River Regional
Athletic Association, Ski Fit North (skiing instruction), and the Regional
Health Board - Keewatin Yathe. Its strongest association is between
the School and the Village of Beauval. The agreement is posted for others
to copy.
A
list of loppets and sask cup races that the Beauval Ski Club attends
is posted under Tours
and Dates.
Facilities:
The Beauval Ski Club has a warm up facility as well as use of the arena
during major events.
